Re: What did you shoot today?

Yes, one of the best threads ever!

I shot 83 yesterday. 10/14 fairways, 12/18 GIR, and 38 putts (4 3-putts...grrrr). 1st round of the new year and first since September so not too shabby overall!

Re: What did you shoot today?

Well, I didn’t finish a round on Saturday, but played 14 holes (enough to count it)
Was 62 through 14 for a 7 over.

Well, an unspectacular 82 on a really soggy home course. Had a great time, though.

Yes indeed. I'm from Baytown, so I've played Chambers quite a bit (probably 5 or 6 times) but I have not played there in the last couple of years. It's a good track though for sure.

Re: What did you shoot today?

I didn't shoot anything today....our club course is still closed due to too much snow on the ground (and frozen ground a half-inch below the grass)....been either snowing or too cold for 2-3 weeks now. But they opened the driving range and I hit 3 buckets of balls....ooh, I'm getting rusty.

Sorry, I'm getting grumpy without golf...I don't know how people do it up in Wisconsin. I bet you could start a business opening a driving range in an old warehouse up there....knock out a wall, have heaters inside and offer refreshments.

It's way to cold to go golfing right now for me. I have a windchill of -20* F and a wind advisory until Tuesday.

Re: What did you shoot today?

I had a 9 AM tee time Saturday. About 12 hours before it I got the call - someone laying out Saturday, did I want a shift of OT? I had the choice, but I decided soggy course, temp in the 30's to low 40's, windy to boot and cloudy - it was a no-brainer - I went and made the easy shift of OT. On next payday I will be pretty glad I did...

Re: What did you shoot today?

Shooting the usual garbage I have been lately...only difference is the usually reliable short game wasn't there today...101...the worst serious golfer I know! I really can't tell you what is wrong...I take a lesson and tell my pro what I have been shooting lately, then proceed to knock down all the markers on the range...he wants to go play a round with me to see what is going on, and I am starting to get desparate...this run of bad form is about to enter the third month and I can't seem to shake it...of course I get a little crazy and tin cupped a 12 with four water balls on 16...

Drove 7 hours round trip to do it, but shot 88 on a course to our south, out of the snow and ice.

Re: What did you shoot today?

Well, again had a very rough day at the course. I got there an hour early as I always do, putted for about 15 mins. then headed over to the range. First 20 warm-ups 1/2 shots were normal, then I started my full swing then disaster struck....shank. Hmmm, let me shrug it off, shank...uh oh, shank, shank, shank, shank. Even my 3/4 & 1/2 shots started becoming thin or shank shots. So I stopped right there and went to the short game area and back to putting. First 9 holes, I 1 putted most greens and my around the green chipping never left me farther than 3 ft. It was getting myself from the tee box where it all went horribly wrong. Ended with a 49 for the front, 4 of those being penalty strokes from the ball hastily leaving the hosel to the right. The back 9 I made one simple little adjustment based on what I saw in my shadow waiting at the 10th tee box (saw I was coming more inside than usual) and bam, I was back. Ended up shooting a 38 which makes it another one of those weird 87's....

Walker and I played yesterday in our annual Super Bowl Tournament and shot a Very forgetable 84. Neither of us had played in a month or so (wet wet wet) and it sure showed. I will be lucky to ever get him to play with me again.

Re: What did you shoot today?

The course was packed today! It's been the nicest weather all year! I only played nine holes today, but if was the first nine holes I've played since the middle of November. I shot a 34 (-1). The Sumo2 was working well along with the irons as I struck them very nicely. I could have shot probably 3 or 4 under if it wasn't for the flatstick!

I played a round in my mind while spacing out in school. Ended up shooting 42-43. You would think I would shoot better in a day dream.

Yes I am officially in a slump. My last 5 nines are 41-38-41-42-41. I am not doing anything well right now, at least not consistently. Pistol tried to let me off the hook by trapping his approach and bogeying the last hole, but I rewarded his generosity with some of my own, a lousy 3 putt from 30 uphill feet.

Re: What did you shoot today?

Played my first round in 2 months last weekend, managed 9 holes before I caught up with gents' swindle.

After all that time off I was mentally prepared for shank city, but in fact I shot 40 for the front nine, 5 under par net, with no doubles, one sand save and 5/7 fairways!

My next round should be the club championships in June! I'll win going away

You won't play again for 4 months and you expect to win the club championship? You're either related to Bruce Lietzke, or your club members play from an intensive care unit!

I figured if I have two months off and shoot 5 under for nine, I should go REALLY low with 4 months rest.

Or maybe it was a fluke?

Hole 7 par 5 Pistol 4, Mr Bogey 6 Pistol 2 up
Hole 8 par 3 Pistol 4, Mr Bogey 3 Pistol 1 up, Mr B presses
Hole 9 par 5 Pistol 5, Mr Bogey 5 Pistol wins 1 up, press halved

Gross scores : Pistol 37(+1) Mr Bogey 39(+3) Pistol wins 1 USD

07 Match (bet) record: Pistol 6 Mr. Bogey 2 Tied 1
Pistol has a $5.50 lead

Pistol claims his 5th straight match, but at least it was close for a change. Both of us are battling with our putters a little bit, but Pistol's ball striking has been better than mine. That said, today gave me some hope since from about the third hole on, I hit the ball much better and mostly was hurt by 3 putts on 4 & 5.

Re: What did you shoot today?

Pistol and I played today, but not together, as he played in the Retired Military monthly event. It would've been a wash if we had played, as we both shot 75 and we each would've won a side. I played the senior tees for the first time today (I will turn 54 in May), but it isn't much advantage - some holes play much shorter, but others have the landing areas really squeezed, so it really isn't much difference.

Re: What did you shoot today?

Today I played at Woodley Lakes which is a par 72 course. I had a 9:15 a.m. tee off time with my Dad and the weather seemed perfect in the Low 70's, but it was a little bit windy. I shot a miserable 88 and had 1 birdie and way too many bogeys. My putting once again let me down where there were several chances I could have had par but ended up with a bogey because of my poor putting. All in all though it was a great day out on the golf course with my Dad as it always is.

Re: What did you shoot today?

It was a dreary, cold, windy, overcast 42* when we teed off this morning (other than that it was a pretty day), and I shot a Jekyl and Hyde 47-38-85. It was interesting day, as I was 11 over on the first 7 holes, 2 over on the last 11.
