Ryder Cup Central Here we go again. This time at Valhalla, September 16-21, in the heart of Kentucky for Golf's bi-yearly version of The Hatfields vs. The McCoys. It's been a rough go of it for the US lately. Will this be the year the Tiger-less fresh blood steps up or will it be more of the same ? Here is the place for all of your Ryder Cup discussion.

Re: Kenny Perry... Brilliant!

If he wins another he'll be the first guy his age since Gene Littler to do it... but to do it this week he'll have to chase down Will MacKenzie, Charlie Wi, J.P. Hayes, Brad Adamonis, Ken Duke and Vaughn Taylor.

If the prospect of that showdown doesn't get the heart pumping then I don't know what will.

ALERT! ALERT! ALERT!

KENNY PERRY SIGHTED AT A MAJOR CHAMPIONSHIP!

I just thought I'd let all of you that ragged on Kenny for missing the last two majors know that I personally watched him play 4 holes of a practice round with Mike Weir and Dean Wilson at the PGA Championship at Oakland Hills today. Perry apparently isn't majorphobic afterall.

Were I more cynical than I am (okay, who am I kidding) I would suggest that that is because there's not another tournament being played opposite the PGA, so Kenny's only opportunity for RC points this time is to play in the major.

Kenny has all the Ryder Cup points he needs. He's playing this one just for fun.

Re: Kenny Perry... Brilliant!

Bet you will not be able to see him at the weekend.

He only made it to the weekend last week because there was not a cut.Come September 18th, he should be out of form and a liability...............like he was last time he made the team.

According to Perry, since he hasn't won a major until now there is little chance he will win one now, so as an independent contractor he just trying to provide for his family.

(my commend. Would his family go hungry if he missed the cut at the US and British Opens? )

I'll take that bet.........providing of course it's the standard fare of a sleeve of golf balls of the winner's choice. Your call.

The last time Kenny made the team he didn't have multiple PGA Tour wins in that year and the Ryder Cup wasn't being played in his home state. My guess is that he's just a bit more motivated this time around.

Now.........about that bet.

Maybe he will play more than two of the five matches this time...............but he does not like 36 in day ,so he will only play three of the matches..................good team man. Maybe he should be paired with Riley.

Perry wouldn't be the first player to only play in two of the 5 matches now would he? I seem to remember a few Euros that sat out until the singles.

You should be thankful a guy like Riley made the American team. His "tired" attitude contributed to the Euro win. That's exactly why Mahan can keep his whining backside home too.

I noticed you conveniently forgot to back up your Perry bashing with the bet you mentioned.

Re: Kenny Perry... Brilliant!

I resisted the bet as I was concentrating on Mr Burger flipper.

I do not need the balls, I hear the recession in USA is making everyone count their pennies, and my experience of the US and British post offices makes it unlikely I would see them anyway.

"I do not need the balls"- is that need or have? BTW the world has progressed from barter trading - you could make an appropriate internet transfer

Re: Kenny Perry... Brilliant!

I was wrong again, he did not even make it to the Friday.

One in the eye for League!

Funny how they never drop out after a 69.

A confirmed eye injury is not a missed cut but Perry's history of making the cut at PGA Championships speaks for itself. We'll take this up again in September.

I would argue otherwise, and as a heart attack victim speaking to someone in perfectly good health, I don't think insulting my personal health and how I care for myself is a real bright idea on your part (which probably fully explains why you're doing it).

Watch yourself, I'm omnipresent.

He's like the rest of them, all quite a bit of talk but no money where their mouths are.
